About The Authors

Scott and Jeff Ward are brothers and 2 Indigenous entrepreneurs based on Lekwungen territory (Victoria, BC).

Scott Ward

Scott was born in Selkirk, Manitoba. He is a descendant of Sandy Bay Ojibway Nation and the historic Red River Manitoba Métis. He holds a Bachelor of Education in Drama and Intercultural Education. He is a co-author of the business book: “Energize Your Entrepreneurial Spirit”. In addition to bringing laughter and entertainment to communities, organizations and schools, Scott is world renown for his comedy hypnosis show and is heavily immersed in working with youth and was a past recipient of an Alberta Aboriginal Youth Role Model Award , an Alberta Business Award of Distinction, as well as being a 2015 recipient of the Native American 40 under 40 award. Scott Ward now travels extensively across North America as a full-time Comedy Hypnotist and Motivational Speaker with the Going Miles Program.

Jeff Ward

Jeff founded Animikii in 2003 and has orchestrated and managed its growth ever since. Everything Jeff does in business is geared towards uplifting his family, communities and Indigenous Peoples. He is Ojibwe and Métis, originally from Manitoba, and now lives and works in Victoria, BC on Lekwungen territory. Jeff is a web designer, software developer, author, and speaker. He also serves as board member for Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN). Recently Jeff was honoured to receive a 2019 Forty under 40 award by BIV (Business In Vancouver) and the 2019 BC Indigenous Business Awardee for Business of the year in the 11+ staff category.
