Be The “Go-To” Person Or Company
To stand out in business, and to succeed — you want to be the ‘go to’ guru. You want clients to think of you when they require your niche service or product. Establishing yourself as a leader means providing the best service or product you can, maintaining a positive and respectful relationship and rapport with your clients and staying on top of industry trends and developments. Make it your goal to continually improve, and provide maximum satisfaction to your clients. There’s no need to consider the competition when you are competing with yourself every day to become better, faster, stronger, smarter, more successful at what you do. Do your best, and then better it with practice.
Take pride in the work you do. This doesn’t mean boasting or taking out a billboard bragging about being number one. It means being able to say to yourself and your loved ones that no matter what size of job you had or how much or little you were paid for it, you did your best and put your best effort, your heart, and your back into it.
Stay humble and approachable, look for feedback from your clients. Ask them what you did right, and then ask them where they’d like to see improvements. Good two-way conversations and a high level of trust, honesty, and communication are invaluable to any business.
Keep in touch with your customers. And whether it’s from e-mails, ads, fridge magnets, or pens with your phone number on it, keep your name out there and in front of them. When they have a business need that you can provide, you want to be the first person they think of.
